Plan International Guatemala is committed to ensuring that all children receive a quality education.
Our Inclusive Schools programme seeks to ensure that children attend schools that promote good hygiene practices, participatory processes and the protection of girls and boys against violence.
To accomplish this, we focus on ensuring access to primary school for marginalised indigenous girls that includes bilingual education. We also work alongside the Ministry of Education to improve primary school completion rates.
Another aspect of our work includes the Community-based Rehabilitation Programme which helps disabled children access school and community life.
We now support 354 school governments, enabling young people to play an active role in the governance of their schools and communities.
