Grants Specialist

Plan International Myanmar is an international humanitarian, child-centred development organisation, implementing programmes that promote the realisation and fulfillment of children’s rights and the alleviation of child poverty.

Plan International is seeking a Grants Specialist to provide support on grants management issues, furthering the delivery of Plan’s programs and projects, ensuring compliance with Plan International and donor grants policies and procedures and advising on the effective management of grants and the risks.

Reports to: Business Development Manager
Assignment Duration: 3 years

Job purpose:
Reporting to the Business Development Manager. Grant funding includes institutional donors that are multi-lateral, institutional, and private. Key responsibility includes: manage internal and external communication with Plan fundraising offices and donors on specific projects, ensure compliance with Plan International and donor policies and procedures, set up new grants in the system, ensure that project reports are prepared in the correct formats and submitted in due time, prepares grants tracking matrix, including due reports and due funding requests from local donors.
Being able to work across different teams in Yangon and with field offices will be a key asset, with excellent communication and writing skills an advantage for managing multiple relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

 Bachelor’s Degree in Development or related field including Organizational/Business Administration. Post graduate diploma or Master degree will be added advantage.
 Professional experience including a specialized position in the development sector
 At least three year experiences in the NGO sector in grants management
 Experience in coaching, training and facilitation would be advantage
 Excellent English oral and written communication skills
 Advanced negotiating skills
 Conceptual and analytical skills
 Creative problem solver
 Highly effective prioritisation of competing requests
 Highly professional, customer focussed, constructive and positive in approach.
 Diplomatic and culturally sensitive
 Experience working and collaborating with diverse sets of stakeholders, such as local partners, government officials, donor representatives, and international staff.
 Ability to work under pressure, as part of a team or independently, and meet deadlines consistently.
