Job purpose:
Plan International Myanmar is planning to expand its humanitarian efforts in partnership with the World Food Program. General food distribution will take place in 8 camps in and around Sittwe for 51,504 vulnerable IDPs and Plan requires four Distribution Assistants to undertake food distribution activities. The Distribution Assistant will be responsible for implementation and monitoring of food distribution, assist with food distribution and undertake visits to view the project and beneficiaries.

He/she will inspect storage places and points where the food distribution are received and advise on the handling, transport, storage and distribution of the commodities. He/she will assist Project Committees in planning, formulating, and targeting recipients for aid He/she will also undertake reporting and analysis of food commodity movement and distribution. The incumbent must be prepared to travel within the designated operational camps and should be able to manage large amounts of quantitative data effectively with supervision and guidance by Food Distribution Team Leader. This position is based in Sittwe with up to 90% travel to the field. This position is grant based and subject to approval of grant proposal.

Strong interpersonal skills; courtesy, tact and ability to work effectively with people • Ability to interpret and analyze a wide variety of program issues and statistical information, and to maintain accurate and precise records • Organizes and plans work to accomplish given objectives with minimal supervision. • Makes decisions, takes actions to move issues forward and follows up on actions • Focused and results oriented • Good monitoring and follow-up skills • Innovative, field oriented, good team member, good negotiating skills.
