Esther is responsible for communications and campaigning in the Plan EU International Office. Being part of the influencing team, she promotes more gender-sensitive and child-friendly policy-making in the EU policy space together with the advocacy team. By providing content for the Girls’ Rights Gazette, Plan International EU Office’s external newsletter, managing Plan International’s communication channels and sharing information about Plan International’s Global Campaign ‘Girls Get Equal’, she highlights Plan’s impact and advocates for the rights of children and young girls.
Esther holds a Bachelor in Applied Linguistics and mastered in Multilingual Communication at the KU Leuven. She has just finished her Advanced Master’s in Development Evaluation and Management at the Institute of Development Policy in Antwerp. For her thesis research, she did a six week-internship at a grassroot organisation in Kampala named Ugandan Youth and adolescents Health Forum to investigate adolescents’ perceptions about and experiences on sexuality and sexual reproductive health rights.
