Alisha joined the Plan International EU Office as Policy and Advocacy Assistant in June 2021. Alisha is responsible for supporting advocacy work within the framework of Plan International’s global campaign on girls’ rights and leadership, the organisation of key events and activities, and the monitoring of EU policy updates. Her interests lie in the areas of international development and promoting gender equality in and through education.
Alisha holds an MA in International Educational Development from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Boston University. Prior to joining Plan International, she has worked in low-income communities in New York and India and contributed to advocacy efforts with the NGO Committee on the Status of Women. Alisha has also conducted research for her thesis on girls’ education and decision-making regarding their higher educational and employment opportunities.
