Julia joined Plan International in March 2019. As the new Policy and Advocacy Assistant at Plan International EU Office, she will be involved in our work areas Youth Economic Empowerment, EU Funding and Girls Leadership and Youth Participation.
Previously she did a traineeship at the European Roma Information Office (ERIO) in Brussels, where she focused on Roma issues in the fields of anti-discrimination and social inclusion. Prior to this, she worked as a social worker in a counselling centre for victims of domestic violence in Austria. As a trainee in the children’s rights organisation Child Alert in the Philippines, she supported the team in the organisation and implementation of workshops and awareness raising campaigns.
In her bachelor thesis, she focused on child trafficking in Austria and the lack of social protection victim’s face. Julia holds a M.A. in Human Rights and Democratisation from the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC) in Venice and a B.A. in Social Work from the FH JOANNEUM University of Applied Sciences in Austria.
