Florian is the communications and campaigns assistant at the Plan International EU Office. With the aim to advance girls’ rights in the EU space, he supports the EU offices communications work in key policy areas as: the next EU budget and Youth Economic Empowerment, as well as sharing the impact of Plan International’s EU funded programmes. Furthermore, he supports the EU office in events, namely the European Development Days and the European Week of Action for Girls.
Prior to his role at Plan International, Florian worked as a political journalist for the Flemish radio station Radio 1 and as a freelance journalist for BRUZZ, the regional media in Brussels. He has a master’s in Political Sciences, specialising in International Relations and the Global South, from the University of Ghent and a master in Journalism from VUB, Vrije Universiteit Brussel. His thesis to obtain his master in Journalism was laureate at the Festival of the Young Journalist in Flanders and won the prize for best thesis about online help.
