Girls Get Equal

The global campaign demanding power, freedom and respect for girls and young women

Girls everywhere are undervalued, undermined and underestimated. But we’re calling time on inequality.

Until you can see and hear us equally in positions of power. In governments and parliaments. As CEOs and leaders. In our classrooms and our homes.

Until we can live, love and lead without fear or discrimination, we will not be stopped.

This is a movement for us all. This is how #GirlsGetEqual.

Take the pledge

I pledge to help build a world where girls are equally seen, heard and valued.

I won’t stop until #GirlsGetEqual freedom. I will defend their right to be safe wherever they are, and speak up without fear of harassment or violence.

I won’t stop until #GirlsGetEqual power. I will support girls to become leaders and take part in all decisions that affect their lives.

I won’t stop until #GirlsGetEqual stories. I will call out discrimination and stereotyping where I see it on the screen, in print and in advertising, to make room for stories of girls’ power and achievement.

Ethiopia's Uncut Girls Club are speaking out against female genital mutilation (FGM).
#EndFGM: Meet generation change

Female genital mutilation is mostly carried out on young girls between infancy and age 15.

Before they full understand their bodies, the law and their rights, an act of violence is committed against them.

But girls and their communities are learning about the consequences of FGM. They are speaking out against outdated traditions and demanding to be heard.
