ECCD Officer Taungup

Position: ECCD Project Officer
Number of positions required: 2 positions
Assignment Type: One year fixed term

Job background: Plan International is implementing at ECCD project in Taungup Township, Rakhine State. The ECCD Officer will provide technical support to outreach workers and conduct regular monitoring in the project area.The project will focus on improving parenting practice to support holistic child development and organizing age appropriate playgroup activities. This position is based full-time in Taungup Township with extensive field travel.

Job purpose: The ECCD Officer will have a key role in identifying and selecting communities for the establishment of the project • Facilitate local level awareness raising campaigns on ECCD and Parenting Education activities in targeted area • Liaison with the local authorities and concerned Government departments regarding project activities • Develop detailed implementation schedule at the field level together with PU ECCD Manager • Ensure that the programme takes steps to counter discrimination against gender equality in program operation. Represent Plan International Myanmar in various forums and coordination meetings at township level • Activity progress reporting to the PU ECCD Manager • Ensure reporting and programme implementation meet donor requirements and are timely and of quality.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Citizen of Myanmar • Bachelor degree • Minimum Three years of demonstrated relevant experience • knowledge of ECCD and parenting education concepts • Extensive experience assessing, building capacity, monitoring and cooperating with local NGOs • Good knowledge of community development in Myanmar • Experience in implementing partnership approach projects • Track record of participation, training, facilitation and awareness raising • Experience of working with children and communities is an advantage • Strong team-building and facilitation skills • Excellent communication skills • Proficient in computer skills.
