Citizen participation in Bolivia

Children and youth finding their voice and making their own decisions

We are committed to empowering young people in Bolivia to actively participate in decision-making in their communities – for example, ensuring that every young person has a say in the improvement of municipal child protection, education and health services that affect them.

We are connecting young people via youth groups that come together and get involved in scoring community services for education and child protection, resulting in more commitment by local governments to improving these services.

Young people and women gain confidence and power as they express their opinions, speaking out about their rights, the improvement of a culture of peace in Bolivia, the needs of the marginalised and calling for deep-rooted, long-term social change.
