Plan International's Cash-Based Work Programme provides families affected by April’s devastating earthquake with cash transfers and short-term employment opportunities. In total, Plan International will reach over 10,000 households in 4 districts.
The programme aims to provide the most vulnerable families with cash to meet their basic needs of shelter and food. The secondary objective is to repair public amenities such as roads, schools and water facilities damaged by the earthquakes and to assist current programming for health, education, agriculture and livelihood.
Puskar Prasad Khanal from Sindhupalchowk said, “As part of Plan International Nepal’s relief programme we are rebuilding a road for the village. I’m feeling very happy, we are getting relief as well as development.”
