Next semester, over 60 school children from Ha Giang province will benefit from a safer, cleaner and better designed boarding house.
After years of use, the old boarding house was no longer fit for use with its small, uncomfortable rooms and damaged roof which leaked during the rainy season.
To ensure the boarding house was not a barrier to children’s education, Plan International Vietnam worked with local authorities to renovate the building with funds from donors in Hong Kong.
After 3 months of construction a new boarding house with 5 rooms, clean water supply, toilets and a playground, has been completed. This new facility will encourage families to send their children to the school when the new academic year starts.
