Launch reception and exhibition
A high-level reception, featuring interventions from senior EU and UN representatives, will take place under the patronage of the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the EU. The reception will also serve as a celebration of the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals, providing a timely opportunity to reflect on what the EU and member states need to do to help ensure these goals work for girls around the world.

#GirlsVoices: Our lives, our goals
Girls speak out about their rights and role in the Sustainable Development Goals
Plan International EU Office and the European Commission are organising a youth takeover of EU institutional social media accounts. The takeover will feature five girls from around the world, covering a range of issues of interest and importance to the girls participating, including youth economic empowerment, education, gender equality and protection from violence. The girls will take part in a live chat from 15.00-16.00 CET – join the conversation on Twitter and Facebook using #GirlsVoices.
