Plan Europe’s ‘I have a voice!’ campaign is charged primarily with connecting more of the ideas, opinions and ‘voices’ of children with policy makers. We at Plan believe that children can provide a valuable insight on the issues that affect them and the world around them, and have the right to participate in the policy making processes that determine these issues.

18 January 2010: Miline, aged 12, and Francoise, a mother who lost her husband and 2 children in the Haiti earthquake, share their experiences with Plan staff who have been distributing emergency supplies to their communities in Port-au-Prince.

Plan has released emergency funds and is on the ground to help deal with the immediate aftermath of Haiti's devastating earthquake. Plan staff reported widespread panic when the 7.0 magnitude quake and 2 strong aftershocks struck. It is the most powerful earthquake to have hit the island of Hispaniola in 200 years.
