Programme highlights

Early childhood care and development

The priority of this programme is to increase the number of children under 5 who are enrolled in pre-schools. Plan cooperates with communities to construct safe and quality pre-schools, and to provide toys and teaching aids.

We also train pre-school teachers on how to create active learning environments and make toys from available materials. We are working on a master plan on early childhood care and development for Ha Giang, which will be rolled out in the coming years.

Sustainable livelihoods

To help ensure sustainable livelihoods Plan provides training courses on cattle, veterinary skills, and integrated pest management skills for agricultural extension workers and farmers. This helps them overcome the severe weather, especially during the winter.

Child protection

To realise the rights of every child Plan has cooperated with the justice department, youth union and committee for population, family and children to deliver 2 training courses on child protection for districts, commune and village leaders, and commune volunteers.

We also run communication events during the mid-Autumn festival and on International Children’s Day so children can learn about their rights. We work with schools and district culture centres and youth unions to set up children’s clubs where children are empowered to express themselves and to raise their voices on issues that affect them.
