This strategic framework aims to provide Plan staff, and all who work with or contribute to Plan, a single reference that captures the main issues likely to affect poor children in Asia and Plan’s responses to each of them. It describes the magnitude and the underlying causes of child poverty in Asia, and points out that to successfully tackle the issues, children, families and communities need to be active and leading participants in their own development. It also highlights that building relationships and sponsorship programs have the potential to play a key part in advocacy activities by linking families across cultural and wealth divides at an individual level.
