Plan West Africa’s Regional HIV Response Strategy is the end result of a consultation incorporating input from all West Africa Regional Office country offices, as well as from the Region of Eastern and Southern Africa and National Offices.

 In June 2006, Plan adopted the document “Creating a Climate for Innovation” as its Global HIV Programme Framework. This document, updated in April 2008, recognises the diversity of HIV epidemics in various regions of the world – both in terms of epidemiological and societal differences – and the diverse responses needed, which must be adapted to local, national and regional situations.
