Putting an end to early marriage in Niger

Plan is working with local communities to help put an end to early marriages in Niger and encourage girls to stay in school.

A second chance for education

Thanks to Plan's second chance schools, children can obtain primary school certificate and continue their education at colleges.

In Niger, young women have no income and no skills in saving. Plan through its Youth Microfinance Project teaches women managerial and finance skills and encourages them to start their own businesses.

Plan cereal banks empower Nigerien women and provide food security

In the village of Gangatarey, six women run a cereal bank to ensure the availability of food for families until the next harvest. The Plan initiative changes behaviour and provides women with managerial skills.

Fighting food insecurity with cereal banks

A Plan project is helping to construct cereal banks in 86 communities throughout Niger's Dosso and Tillaberi regions to reduce the risk of food insecurity and empower women in their communities
