Plan Mali's acting Country Director Michelet William
Michelet Williams started his development career in his home country of Haiti in 1994 and has produced several research papers exploring responses to poverty, hunger and child survival in the country. He has considerable experience in the management of development programmes and in providing technical support to field operations.
Michelet joined Plan in 2001, first in Haiti and then in Mali as a programme support manager. In both countries he has coordinated the development of Plan’s country strategic plans and has ensured effective implementation of programmes and large grants, such as those from the Global Fund.
His previous experience includes working with ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency) and World Vision, as a food security specialist. Michelet has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s in international development from Andrews University, Michigan, USA. He speaks French, English, Creole and a little Spanish.
